The Bidding Game

Having worked in Real Time Bidding (RTB) many times I was asked to explain what I actually do. So I designed this game to give people a taste of the challenge.

To my own surprise, if you take a few minutes playing, many real phenomena I observed in practice appear in the game — for example, losing money when the competition becomes more efficient.

So what's the game?

1. You start with 100 coins and 2 minutes, and need to win as many coins as possible.
2. You bid. If you win, you pay your bid and gain the item's value.
3. If you don't win, you don't get to see the item's value.
